The “perfect” golf swing does not exist. There is no secret to playing good golf. As demonstrated in the video at the end of the post, it shows how Rory McIllroy’s golf swing and the swing of PGA Tour winner Charlie Beljan are extremely different. They have very different methods that both create powerful, reliable golf swings that stand up under pressure and result in wins on the PGA Tour.

The golf industry is a business, just like everything else in the modern day world. Sadly, many of the most popular golf instructors have taken advantage of the average golfer by selling them on the latest golf swing method or theory. These theory’s are just that –
theories! They have no proven results. How many tour pro’s do you see doing the “stack and tilt golf swing” or “one plane golf swing”? Well besides Matt Kuchar, not too many! Those methods take more talent, flexible and coordination than the old, fundamental golf swing.

What is the fundamental golf swing?

For me, the fundamentals start in the set up – grip, stance, posture, alignment and ball position. Once you nail down these basic fundamentals in the setup you can then find the perfect golf swing that fits you!

Accurate and consistent ball flights come from the proper connection between club path and face angle at the moment of impact. There are endless combinations of the two that will make a consistent ball flight. There is also a lot of cause and effect in our individual golf swings that cause the path to get “over the top” or “too shallow”. Unless you are an experienced golf instructor, you will not be able to figure this out on your own. That is where a professional golf instructor comes in to help.

So if you are looking for the secret or shortcut to the “perfect golf swing”, you will be searching for a while, because the perfect golf swing does not exist! Follow the 5 basic fundamentals, and then consult an expert, proven golf instructor to help you find the perfect golf swing for you!
