JJ Wood, PGA first learned how to play golf after moving from San Diego, CA to Yuma, AZ. Growing up playing all sports, JJ found his passion playing golf at the age of 8. JJ went on to win the Arizona Junior Championship, Arizona Stroke Play Medalists, and earning a spot on the victorious United States World Junior Golf Cup Team in 1998. This earned him a golf scholarship to Pepperdine University, before transferring to the University of Oklahoma to play his last year of NCAA golf while earning a Master’s Degree in Education.
After a short stint as a playing professional, JJ focused his passion for golf with helping players of all ages and abilities improve their game.
“Golf is the worst practiced sport in the world”
Golf is a process, all coaching programs come with complete training on mental game, practice strategies, on course management, golf lessons, and online education center.
It is important to start with a baseline evaluation to find each players natural swing and ball flight tendencies. I want to understand everything about the players game and then develop a strategic game plan for improvement. With access to video software and launch monitors, we are able to get very specific feedback and improve quickly.
My experiences working with the top coaches in the world, my opinion is that traditional golf instruction is over complicated. My goal is to enhance the students natural golf swing with key elements all great players possess. Once we develop a game plan for their progress, it is important that they know how to practice efficiently and implement performance strategies to achieve their potential.
